Neighborhood Church Bible Reading Plan

Here is our daily Bible reading plan for 2008. We believe that God's desire is to commune with His people. One of the ways this occurs is through prayer and reading Scripture. Our method is pretty simple. Here's what you need:
- A Bible
- A pen
- A journal
- A reading plan
- Notecards or post-it notes (As soon as you begin reading, you're no doubt going to start thinking about all of the things that need to get done. Write them down so you don't forget).
Select a time of day that works well for you. Before you begin to read, ask God to speak to you about one thing. Then read your two chapters for the day. After you're finished reading, it's time for reflection. We use a nifty little acronym for this: SOAP.
The S stands for Scripture. Write down the Scripture that God spoke to you about during your reading.
The O stands for Observation. Write down any questions or thoughts that came to your mind as you were reading.
The A stands for Application. How does what you just read apply to your life right now? What is God saying to you through this verse?
The P stands for Prayer. Write out a short prayer to God. Since prayer is a two-way conversation, write down anything you sense that He is saying to you.
