Vision

Who is
To boil it down to a statement, we are a Jesus-centered missional community in the heart of the city.
Jesus-centered
What does it look like for Jesus to be at the center of our lives, our homes, our dreams, our work, our church? Jesus has called us to surrender our lives to Him. He wants to be our master, our teacher, our guru, and He invites us to walk with Him and learn from Him. What a remarkable opportunity!
We take discipleship seriously here at NC. Spiritual maturity is the goal.
Missional
A missional church believes that God is on a mission of redeeming and restoring that which is lost, and He invites us to participate in that mission with Him. The church exists to be a part of this reconciling work. Therefore, our aim is not to try to get the world to come to us, but for us to go into the world. The Gospel is primary to mission. We live in, and are shaped, by the Gospel, and as this happens, we begin to live out, and proclaim, that very same Gospel.
Community
Neither discipleship nor mission were meant to be lived out alone. The context is always community. Our desire is to live our lives together. In our opinions, it’s a tragedy when we only get to see each other once a week. We often ask the question, “Who is God calling us to be?” believing that we work best when we’re working together. As Paul said, the body only works as it was created to work when all of its parts are working as they were created to work (1 Corinthians 12:12-31).
In the heart of the City
Our city, like every other city, desperately needs to experience Jesus’ Kingdom, and the only way that will happen is for God’s people to live out and proclaim the Gospel that has changed our lives. It’s not enough for us to sit in our pews on Sundays, though. We have to be aware of the needs and challenges of our city, understanding how the Gospel speaks into these needs and challenges. And then we have to be courageous enough to get our hands dirty. The needs of the city must become our needs. The dreams of the city must become our dreams. We believe that God loves cities, and that His desire is for His Kingdom to be as evident in
